Get the biggest bang for the dollar!

This is not a toy grow light. It is a true 3 lamp high output It offers the following:

(A) Two sets of 3 bulbs for Growth and Blooming

It’s two fixtures in one! It comes withthree warm tone bulbs likeHPSfor Blooming and three natural white bulbs like Metal Halidefor vegetative Growth.

The natural white bulbs simulate the mid morning sun using special synthesized rare earth phosphors. Unlike old fashion halo phosphate based bulbs, these advanced bulbs produce blue light at the extreme of the spectrum while not depriving the plant on the deep red light most efficiently used for photosynthesis. This blue light is necessary to prevent stem elongation that makes plants spindly. This light spectrum is much like that of metal halide (MH).

When plants are full size, switch to the warm tone set of bulbs with extra deep red light to supply extra energy for blooming. The warm tone bulb produces a spectrum that substitutes forHPS.

(B) Save hundreds of dollars on energy.

(C) Extraordinary light output that is enhanced with mirror-like reflectors.

(D) Great multi-purpose light for full scale production that's cool enough for close in starting.

(E) The sunlight simulating growth bulbs make it a great shop light in the offseason.

(F) Alternative Choice of Bulbs

If you don't want the Bloom and Grow bulbs that ordinarily come with this fixture, we offer Aquarium Bulbs, Blue Lights for HPS Supplementation, and perhaps the very best lights for plant growth: the Narrow Spectrum bulb. (check our store listings for these alternative bulbs.) For more information on this great Narrow Spectrumbulb, read the discussion entitled "Why pay for light your plants can’t See ?"

Bright Great Grow Light

This is an electronic high output T8 3 tube, 4’ fluorescent grow light with Mirror like aluminum reflector. It makes 10260 design lumens with standard HO lamps. But runs very cool, so you can intensify light output by putting the light right on top of the plants.

It is: 1.2 times brighter than 175 w metal halide ; Six times brighter than a 30 w compact fluorescent; Four times brighter than a shop light with two 40 watt Cool White Deluxe bulbs; 2.2 times brighter than a standard T8 -2 bulb 4’ fixture that others call "high output" ; 2.5 times brighter than the phony “500 watt” FluoreX

Why lose $169?

That’s how much you’re sure to lose if you use 175 watt metal halide instead of this light (see notes). Save even more on energy, buy two of these instead of a 400 watt metal halide.

Quality Workmanship

It is factory new. It includes a 120 volt power cord. There are ample attachments for chain. The commericial grade electronic ballast carries a 5 year free replacement warranty from the manufacturer. It has a high ballast factor that generates 120% of rated lamp output.

The hi-tech mirror like reflector is constructed of lighting grade high reflectivity anodized aluminum. This boosts light output and it is specular. This means it can be formed to direct light straight down. The computerized ray tracing results of the reflector are outstanding. You need to be careful using this material. Misapplication will cause the light to scatter to the side of the fixture, worse than if you had used a white reflector. Butthis is much better than a white reflector. Thesurface of a standard white reflector randomly scatters the light. These are ok for a shop, but can't deliver the ultra high light levels for growing. Also it CAN'T RUST .

For shipping purposes it has a protective plastic film on it. It's 4' long. We also roll the long edges over so you don't cut yourself.

You could Save a lot of money if you couldgrow plants in the DARK

When I first went into Business , the best advice I ever got was “it’s easy to sell as long as you are in business to help people.” We seek to serve you in part by divulging all sorts of good accurate information.

There is confusion and misinformation about how much light different sources generate. Below is a comparison. Notice how High Output T8’s make more light using less energy than the much more expensive compact fluorescents. Also notice that not all T8 fixture are the same, not withstanding that many are often labeled as “high output” when they are not. The amount of light that you get out of a fixture varies with the ballast used. It’s not necessarily the rated output printed on the lamp.

Come to Us for the True High Output T8’s

People say they are blown away with the brightness of our high output fixtures as they are compared side by side with competing normal output designs. Our customer’s really like our lights because they are so amazingly bright! Based on word of mouth reference, we have shipped lights all over the country.

Our competitors often see our lights and start saying that their ordinary output fixtures that they are selling are really high output too. What a dirty trick! It has happened over and over again. I feel sorry when I meet people that feel they have been cheated. A good part of our business is making rebuild kits to upgrade lights that are too dim.

What’s worse is that there is a new kind of shop light on the market. This consumer grade fixture makes exactly 50% of the rated output of the bulb. As one of our distributors who bought one to try said : “I only put one light bulb in it, because if you put in two, they will only run at half power.”

Here is the difference between normal and high output T8 fixtures. The T8 bulb was first developed in Europe as a 36 watt bulb. But when it was brought over here it was called a 32 watt bulb, but a standard fixture only drives the lamp at 27 or so watts.

So what does this all mean? A standard commercial grade T8 fixture will give you only 85 to 88% of 32 watt rating. The residential grade shop lights give you only 50% to 70% of the 32 watt rating . Our high output fixtures give 120% of the 32 watt rating. Additionally, there are different grades of bulbs, for instance our sunlight simulating 5K bulb makes an additional 9.6% more bonus light than a standard daylight bulb.

Choice of Bulbs

If you don’t specify, we will shipyou six bulbs. You will get three warm bloom bulbs and three 5000K grow bulbs. However, we will ship you any combinatin of six bloom, 5000K grow, or 6500K-Daylight Aquariumbulbs for the same price. We prefer using a synthetic rare earth 5000K bulbover a 6500K bulb in the vegatative growth phase. The 5000K bulb has higher usable energy content while simultaneously producing extreme spectrum blue light to prevent stem elongation. It actuallyhas more blue content than ordinary 6500K lamps.

We also offerthe following specialty bulbs: (1) Narrow Spectrum lamp,(2) BLUE BULB for Supplementing HPS Lighting, (3) Actinic Type, and (4) 12,500 K- Deep Sea Blue.

If you desire a specialty lamp instead, then the fixture will come with one bulb. We sell more specialty bulbs as another Ebay item or Ebay store item for $9.50. If you need help, we can point you in the right direction to buy more.

On occasion, we also offer thisfixture with 3 specialty bulbsas a seperate Ebay item.

Here are detailed descriptions of the various specialty lights:

Use Narrow Spectrumbulbs: Why pay for light your plants can’t See ? Continued....

Plants are green because they reflect green light back. Yet conventional grow lights (High Pressure Sodium (HPS) , metal halide (MH) and conventional fluorescents were first developed for humans. Because we see green light the best, these sources are very heavy in the yellow-green spectrum. What a waste! Standard fluorescent grow lights aren’t much better. They still generate lots of green light so house plants look nice.

A common misconception is that the ideal color of light for plant growth is sunlight. Much of the light spectrum of sunlight is actually wasted by plants. Again, plants are green because they reflect the green light back. The popular "Grow & Show" wide spectrum type of plant light sold in stores may make foliage look nice and green. But they are not efficient at making plants grow. You can verify in a standard encyclopedia that plants use red and blue energy for photosynthesis.

On the other hand, Optimized Narrow Spectrum fluorescents produce light exactly where chlorophyll is most sensitive. University Studies prove much higher fruit production and growth rates. (Documented below!)

North Carolina State University conducted experiments with radish, lettuce, and milo to determine the optimum composition of wavelengths for optimum growth. Dry matter weights were measured. These "optimum compositions" are the basis of narrow spectrum grow lights.

The same experiments compared the performance of narrow spectrum grow lights, wide spectrum grow and show lights, and a mix of incandescent and cool white fluorescent light. The narrow spectrum fluorescent was definitely superior at inducing plant growth.

Radish Milo (a grain plant)

Wide spectrum grow light 130 240 mg/plant

Narrow spectrum grow light 240 665 mg/plant

This was confirmed in later experiments comparing wide and narrow spectrum grow lights. Gloxinia plants grew faster and had 50% more blossoms than plants grown under wide spectrums. Corn, lettuce, and tomatoes showed 50 to 60 % higher dry matter production than the same plants grown under wide spectrums. Tiny Tim tomatoes blossomed 1 week earlier. A week latter they had 6 blossoms per plant, while the plants under the wide spectrum grow lights only had 2 blossoms per plant.

The tomato plants also produced more:

Ripe Immature Fruit

Wide spectrum grow 187 415 g/plant

Narrow spectrum grow light 340 519 g/plant

As you can see,the very best light for growth is the narrow spectrum fluorescent! For this fixture with 3 narrow spectrum bulbs - see link below.

Common questions about narrow spectrum fluorescents.

Q: What is the color Temperature of narrow spectrum fluorescents?

A:Color temperature ratings don't Mean much with narrow spectrum fluorescents. They make more very deep red light than traditional low color temperature sources like HPS. While at the same time they actually make much more blue light than high color temperature sources like metal halide. What’s interesting is that the type of deep red light that is most nutritious for plants is barely perceptible by the human eye. So paradoxically, these bulbs look bluish to the eye even though they actually make more red light than blue.

Q: Do I need the daylight bulbs or a metal halide spectrum for vegetative growth and then a second set of warm (HPS -like ) bulbs for flowering?

A: No. The narrow spectrum bulbs are the best all around bulbs for growing, fruiting, and flowering. You see, HPS lamps make lots of energy that plants need for flowering, but the defective HPS light spectrum produces lanky, stringy growth. (HPS is the same bulb used in street lights) So people will often start plants under a white light like metal halide to encourage compact growth even though metal halide bulbs are dimmer.

But with narrow spectrum fluorescents, you don’t have to compromise. Light is generated just where plants can most effectively use it.

Q: What about FluorX spectrum?

A: The FluorX spectrum is actually identical to our sunlight simulating 5K lamp. It can be used to provide side lighting in HPS systems which are defective in blue light. People have gone crazy over the brilliant fluorX. (Works great inshop and barn lighting fixtures) But while it looks really bright to the eye, but its not the best spectrum for growing plants.

BLUE BULB for Supplementing HPS Lighting. This is a special purpose bulb, intended to be used in conjunction with HPS Lighting systems. Blue light provides a critical signal that produces lush compact growth. It gets the plant through the vegetative phase with maximum growth. Although HPS produces the most light and it does so more efficiently than any other light source, it lacks the critical blue wavelengths.

That’s why people often start crops under metal halide but finish them under HPS. The problem is that metal halide bulbs don’t stay bright long and are not as bright to begin with. Once they age, a standard metal halide bulb makes only 48% of the light output of its HPS counterpart. You suffer a huge loss in light output just to get the blue light you need.

Now you don’t have to compromise. Just add this fixture (see the link below)with 3 blue bulbs to your HPS system and watch your crop skyrocket! It is much more energy efficient than metal halide or those HPS lamps that are doped with MH.

AQUARIUM LIGHTING OPTIONS

This fixture makes a super aquarium light too with specialized bulbs:

6500K-Daylight A perfect light for Fresh Water Aquariums and some Salt water’s too. Pure trichromatic phosphor makes light just where the eye’s are most sensitive. This is the best high color temperature lamp for human vision.

Actinic Type A deep blue lamp with lots of energy at 425nm, A required light perfect for corals and other sealife. But it also has much better color rendition

12,500 K- Deep Sea Blue This is the best light for deep ocean life. It’s output actually overlaps the above Actinic Type spectrum. When the Actinic Type and 12,500 K- Deep Sea Blue are used together, a healthy reef results

We hope we can help you out with this great grow light.
